7 Things about Me:

1. I teach online and face-to-face for 7 colleges, and sometimes I stay inside all day and work, and only communicate with people over the Internet (and I like it)

2. My mom and I once had the same dream on the same night when I lived in Boston and she lived in NY.

3. I am easily talked into purchasing or upgrading anything. Anything.

4. When I was 4, my mom made me a “Little House on the Prairie” dress. I put it on every time I watched the show until I grew out of it—then I wore my sister’s.

5. I have a strange affinity to Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and the Muppets.

6. I had one sister, but she died, and sometimes I still pick up the phone to call her before I remember.

I’d love to tell you what happened in my kitchen this weekend…

…That about covers it. I ate out three times, and although it was fabulous, I plan to not do that this week.

Lentil Burger. I swear this is better than a "real" burger

No, really...doesn't it look better than a regular greasy burger?
On Saturday night, I met my friend Kyle out at Next Door Bar and Grill (and we totally saw Danny Wegman...which made us stay longer...and drink more). I needed my sauna on Sunday...little bit of detox!

I’m going to Orlando on Friday to meet up with my college roommates, and I’m really looking forward to a little sunshine and warm weather. If you have any recommendations about what to do there…let me know! We’re probably not going to do the Disney thing since one of the girls doesn’t like it (?!). One friend works for a company who offered up some Time Shares for use to their employees. I think we’re splitting the cost of $75 for the whole week (but we’re only staying a few days).

Do you stay in touch with old friends or roomies? We try and get together once a year—so far in Texas, Boston, and NY.

Have you ever gotten any super duper travel deals?

    And I must say we share several things in common, including a love for muppets! Also, believe it or not, my aunt made me a Little House on the Prairie dress when I was younger as I well–I loved it, and dressed up as Laura Ingalls Wilder for “Dress like your favorite author” day in second grade 🙂

    That burger looks fantastic. Love the Little House dress. My mom made me a dress for Easter that I called my Alice In Wonderland dress 😉 And I'm sorry about your sister. Mine is my best friend so I just can't imagine.

    i am looking forward to SPRING! yes, already. i think today is the coldest morning yet this winter…blooming flowers, longer days…these sound good right now!
    wow, love the sound of your upcoming getaway with friends! i DO keep in touch with some older friends – esp now thanks to facebook. just last week i met up with a friend i've had since we were 5!

    Old friends/roomies are the best :). I still make an effort to see my college roommates as much as possible. When we get together it's like we haven't missed a beat! 🙂

    Ha! That's so funny! I loved Laura. My mom used to read us the books at

    night, and one time I asked my dad if he would start calling me “Half-Pint.”

    I also bought the whole series on VHS when I got my first credit card (but I

    sold that in a yard sale a couple years ago when I no longer had a VCR!

    I still buy muppets stuff…and just pretend it's for my nephew (and he has

    to keep it at my house!).

    Ahhhh, blooming flowers and longer days….can't wait for that! It's

    freezing here too. I'm hibernating today. I have so much work to do that I

    can't make myself look at it yet! (hence, procrastinating in bloggy land!)

    Isn't that the best?! I think we sometimes act like we're still 20 when we

    get together (which is ok)…but then someone's kids walk in and we remember

    that we're grown ups (and we definitely drink less now…most of the time!).

    Thanks for the award Lisa!! I love your 7 facts. The Little House Dress is too precious (I would have LOVED to have one!) I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your sister. Having 4 myself I can only imagine how tough that must have been.

    JUST got together with my college buddies and I love it. We try to get together as often as possible but life gets hectic. We definitely drink less than we did back in the day too!

    Aw, thank you m'dear! I'll try to include 7 fact about me in a post this week (fingers crossed I remember – so much going on – my apologies if I don't!). One fact I'll say here, though, is that I'm absolutely not ok with mustard. It's such a phobia that I don't even think of it as a phobia…I just won't allow the stuff in my personal space, at all. Funny thing is, I use mustard seeds like there's no tomorrow, but the stuff-in-a-jar? I can't even look at it!

    I was a Little House on the Prairie FREAK when I was a kid, too!
    I'm sorry to hear about your sister 🙁 I can't imagine how hard that must be for you sometimes.
    I, too, am perfectly happy conducting all my daily communication on the internet. 🙂

    I too have a strange affinity for Muppets and the like. And I'm sorry about your sister. My mom died over 8 years ago and I still have those times where I think, “I should call mom to ask her about that. Oh wait.”

    I always get sucked into upgrading things too, even if it costs more more than it probably should. I'm looking forward to February 18. I have the day off of work, and my boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 4-year anniversary all day! Cannot wait!
