Quest Protein Bars sent me samples, and I wanted to break the review of them into two parts. First, I’ll talk about the nutrition aspect of the bars (ingredients, etc.), and later I’ll review the different flavors.
Quest sent me the bars for free but the opinions are all my own!
As a FitFluential Ambassador, I can apply for campaigns and reviews that I’m interested—so basically, if I’m reviewing something here it’s because I believe in the quality of the product and I wanted to try it out!
After I made this video, I tried the brownie version of the Quest bar. I heated it up in the microwave (I don’t usually own a microwave, but it’s built in–I think this was the first time I’ve used it!). That thing tasted like a real brownie! Seriously.
Anyway, so far… I like these, and I like the nutritional profile. Obviously, I think it’s best to make your own food and not buy things that come in wrappers, but realistically I know that people want to have easy and relatively healthy snacks that don’t require any preparation.
News/Notes: I spent the weekend at my Aunt and Uncle’s house in Fallbrook… and it just happened to also be the weekend of the Fallbrook avocado festival! My uncle and I walked into town Sunday morning to buy avocados… and I certainly made out like a bandit (and I may or may not have 30 avocados sitting on my counter now!). Stay tuned because I am going to post an avocado giveaway (sponsored by So Cal Avocados) later this week! The winner will get 8 avocados delivered to his/her door… It’s my favorite giveaway of all time 🙂
I’m working hard on recording my sessions for the Nutrition and Yoga for Pregnancy course that Pilar and I are finishing up. Launch day is Monday!
haha, yes, melt it! i totally agree. THe ingredient list is what i like too! the natural protein bar is delicious
gag. the sodium levels in ANY of their bars, let alone the amount of sugar and calories…is HUGE.
no thank you. many other better alternative bars out there.
So, they taste good?? I wouldnt’ mind eating a healthy brownie in the middle of the day! Lower sugar and not a huge ingredient list? Sign me up!
I can’t believe you don’t use a microwave. I won’t lie, I use one everyday. I could probably live without it, but I’m not convinced I need to (yet….haha).
I’ve been seeing so many great reviews about Quest Bars and have wanted to try them. I don’t usually eat a lot of bars, but they are nice to have on hand, especially when traveling. And I am absolutely with what your clients were wanting. Hard to find bars that meet those specifications. BTW – how far are you from Long Beach? Will be there Sat-Wed next week….Or if you have any suggestions on what to do, that’d be awesome as well.
Hmm, 2g or 4g of sugar seems pretty low to me. I’ve actually never seen a bar with that low amount of sugar, the sodium seems moderate, and calories are typical for a bar… but please make specific suggestions about the many other better ones since I’ve missed them!
I’m about 30 minutes from Long Beach! Let’s try and meet up while you’re here–I can come down there for coffee or whatever! I’ve never been to Long Beach (well, when I was 16 but…) but I’ll ask around about things to do there for you!

I’ve tried the brownie flavor and the cookie dough… and they were both really good! I tried a bite that was not warmed up and it did have a little of that “protein powder” taste in the background. I’d say the cookie dough and brownie had less of that, and really almost none of that when it was heated up! I like them!

I ate the Peanut Butter Choc Quest Bar without heating it up, and i was wondering, “what is all the fuss about it?”, it was hard and chewy and because there had been so much hype about the Quest Bars, i couldnt understand why everyone was raving on about it.. until.. i popped the bar in the microwave.. OMG, it tasted like a brownie and it was divine!! I am totally hooked now!
