I love cereal. A lot. I try not to buy it because I have been known to eat an entire box throughout the course of a day–once I start, I just can’t stop. As a result, I am trying to find good alternatives to cereal that contain real healthy and satisfying ingredients.
Today, this is what I came up with:
This was inspired by my Mom’s description of her breakfast yesterday, after I gave her some sprouted/”toasted” buckwheat
Buckwheat groats (sprouted and dehydrated—mixed with a small amount of raw cacao powder and agave before dehydrating)
Chia seeds
Raw unprocessed coconut flakes
Goji berries
Strawberries
Coconut milk
By themselves, the buckwheat groats would not be super yummy, but with all this stuff (and a banana would have really topped this off well!), it tasted great. If you don’t have the ability to dehydrate buckwheat groats, you can buy toasted buckwheat groats at health food stores. I haven’t seen it in Wegmans, but Lori’s in Henrietta definitely has it in the bulk section!
